Djaffar Shalchi

Djaffar is an engineer by trade and became wealthy as a real estate entrepreneur. He founded the Human Act foundation in 2016 with the mission of transforming the global distribution of wealth towards a more equitable society through systemic change. He created Move Humanity with Professor Jeffrey Sachs / UN in 2019 and later established the Millionaires for Humanity Initiative to engage like-minded millionaires worldwide to advocate for wealth taxes.

Ané Maro

Ané founded Human Act and Millionaires for Humanity with her husband, Djaffar, when they decided to donate half of their fortune to establish the foundation in 2016. Ané has worked in a variety of professions, from sorting train carriages to being a kindergarten teacher. She now focuses on systemic change by advocating for a 1% global wealth tax.

Ian Rush

Board Member

**Joined the Board:** August 2023

Ian is the always smiling CFO, responsible for managing the financial actions of the organization. He graduated from the University of Southern Denmark with a degree in Economy and Business Administration and has a background in sales. Ian is passionate about learning all sorts of skills and excelling at them – like when he became a national taekwondo champion in 2008.

Peter Jakobsen

Board Member

**Joined the Board:** August 2023

Peter has been supporting the management of Human Act since 2019. In 2021, he also became the CEO of Human Act Development, a venture investment company. He has held various leadership positions in both larger corporations and startups, primarily in commodities and subscription-based businesses. Peter is also a startup business advisor and supports business founders at Copenhagen School of Entrepreneurship and Danish Technical University.

Religions for Peace has been a movement changing the world and challenging the status quo through the mutual conviction that religions are more powerful, inspiring, and impactful together.

ActionAid Denmark is a movement that fights for a more just and sustainable world. Supporting youths in developing their voice and applying pressure on those in power.

Oxfam is a global movement of people who are fighting inequality to end poverty and injustice. Working across regions in about 70 countries, with thousands of partners, supporting communities to build better lives.

UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfil their potential, from early childhood through adolescence.
