Sikandar Malik Siddique
Sikandar Malik Siddique received the Human Act Award in 2021 in recognition of Siddique’s targeted efforts against inequality, racism, discrimination, and climate change in Denmark.
Sikandar Siddique is 34 years old, born and raised in Nørrebro in Copenhagen. He was elected to the Danish Parliament in 2019.
Human Act founder Djaffar Shalchi has this to say about the decision, “I am proud to present Sikandar Siddique with our annual award. He is a role model for a diverse Denmark and a strong voice in the debate on inequality, climate and Danish democracy.”
“It is a great honour and really motivating to receive the Human Act Award – and even after one of my great role models, Greta Thunberg, received the award last year,” says Sikandar Siddique. He furthermore states that the fight for a climate-responsible and diverse Denmark with equal opportunities for all has never been more urgent. “Economic inequality, racism and a wasteful over-consumption of the planet’s resources mean that we as a human being are in a moment of destiny, where we must together insist on new thinking and radical solutions to pass on a sustainable world to future generations. I will do my best to live up to the honour and I will approach the task with a huge humility.”
