Afghan Institute of Learning

We work with ConnectHER to support Dr. Sakena Yacoobi, founder of the Afghan Institute of Learning, who has dedicated her life to advancing girls’ education in one of the world’s most challenging environments.

During the Taliban’s first regime, she established 80 secret schools. Today, she continues to expand access through a network of award-winning schools and programs.

With support from ConnectHER and us, 25 girls received scholarships in 2023, ensuring they could continue their education despite ongoing crises. Dr. Yacoobi’s vision keeps education alive as a beacon of hope for Afghanistan’s future.

Oxfam is a global movement of people who are fighting inequality to end poverty and injustice. Working across regions in about 70 countries, with thousands of partners, supporting communities to build better lives.

UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfil their potential, from early childhood through adolescence.
