Niongoze Fellowship

We partner with ConnectHER to support Fatma Said Kauga, founder of Doyenne, in advancing women’s leadership in Tanzania, where major gender gaps remain in political and economic participation.

With ConnectHER’s backing, Doyenne launched the Niongoze Fellowship, a year-long program for young women (ages 17–25) that builds skills in reproductive health, financial literacy, citizenship, public speaking, and mental health.

In its first year, the fellowship trained 9 fellows and, thanks to this success, expanded to 15 participants in its second cohort. Through mentorship, intensive seminars, and peer networks, the program is equipping young women with the confidence and skills to lead change in Tanzania.
